# TK-10873 — Wide-width verification RESULT (2026-08-31, "verify-first" per Steve)
Verified how Zoffany actually sells the 74 wide-width products (1 web-researcher, $0, + our own
catalog/Shopify copy). **Conclusion: this is NOT a 74-way misprice. A blind revert would have made
it worse.** The dollar amounts are largely defensible; the real defects are surgical.
## Verified rule
Zoffany's wide-width (~134–142 cm) digitally-printed wallcoverings are sold **BY THE METRE / linear
yard**, in increments of their pattern repeat — NOT as standard 10.05 m rolls. The **only** exception
is the explicit **"3M Stocked" fixed panels** (Wray, Tyndall), which are genuine 3 m × 140 cm panels
where one flat price is correct. (Confirmed on zoffany.design/us, wallpaperdirect US, selectedwallpapers,
and our own designerwallcoverings.com listings; US flips the label to "per yard" e.g. Emperors Musician $590/yd.)
## Classification of the 74
- **A · FIXED PANELS (3) — $3,119 — KEEP.** ZOW0072-01/02 Wray $1,073.30, ZOW0113-01 Tyndall $971.95.
Flat price is correct for a fixed panel. Action: none beyond a price sanity-check.
- **B · PER-METRE wide-width (71) — $32,496 — PRICE OK, LABELING RISK.** Implied $/metre = price ÷
repeat-length = **$237–$875/m**, mostly inside Zoffany's ~$400–590/m US band → the dollar figures are
defensible per-length prices, NOT gross misprices. The real risk: each is a per-metre CUT presented as a
flat unit, so a customer may expect a full roll's coverage (~3×) and receive one repeat-length. Action =
**unit-labeling clarity** (title/variant/copy states "per metre / per Xm length + coverage"), not a price revert.
- **22 of the 71 have length = 0 m** in the catalog (missing dimension) → their $/m can't be verified →
need a **dimension backfill** before their per-metre price is trustworthy.
- **C · CONFIRMED DUPE (1) — FIX.** Darnley Tigers Eye is live as TWO products: ZOW0075-03 $447.06 and
ZDAR312884 $416.00. Same physical item. Pick one canonical, retire/merge the other.
## Surgical remediation plan (replaces the "revert all 74" option)
1. **Resolve the Tigers Eye dupe** (choose canonical SKU, unpublish/merge the other) — customer-facing → gated.
2. **Unit-labeling pass on the 71 per-metre products** — product copy + variant unit says "sold per metre /
per Xm length" with coverage; mostly a description/variant fix, not a price change → gated publish, but low-risk.
3. **Dimension backfill for the 22 length=0m SKUs**, then verify each per-metre price → non-gated data work I can do.
4. **Reconcile the held-list bookkeeping** — FOLLOWUP_DECISIONS marked Verdure/Phaedra/Pompadour "held" but
they're live; update the record to reflect reality (non-gated doc fix, done in the addendum).
5. **Spot-check the per-metre extremes** ($237/m low, $875/m high) for the handful outside the band → non-gated.
**Net:** the ~$35.6k "exposure" is mostly correctly-priced per-metre stock with a labeling gap, 3 correct
panels, and 1 real dupe — a far smaller, safer fix than a mass revert. Live data: `zoffany_widewidth_mislabel_suspects.json`.
## $/metre spot-check (the non-gated prep, done)
Dividing each flat live price by its repeat-length gives a **$237–$875/m spread (3.7×)** — the tell that these
are FLAT prices that only *average* into Zoffany's $400–590/m band, not consistent per-metre prices. Against
that band (reliable subset = 50 SKUs with a real length, panels excluded):
- **23 IN band** → price ~fine → **labeling fix only**.
- **~26 BELOW band (<$400/m)** — Phaedra $237, Henrietta's Trail $252, Sansui $260, Pina de Indes $324,
Emperors Musician $326, Chambalon/Elswick/Floating Mountains … → **per-metre REPRICE candidates**.
- **2 ABOVE band (>$590/m)** — Pompadour Print $875/m → **reprice candidate**.
- **22 length=0m SKUs** (Moire ×11, Akaishi ×3, Marquetry Trellis, Mughal Menagerie, Artisan Palampore,
Rushes, Tree of Life) → **$/m UNKNOWN** — catalog has no usable roll_length and a per-metre good's
sell-increment ≠ its repeat, so this needs a **Zoffany scrape**, not a local backfill.
**HONEST CAVEAT — not verification-grade yet.** The "out-of-band" reading assumes sell-increment = repeat
(confirmed for Verdure, unproven universally). Different repeat sizes legitimately yield different $/m, so a
low $/m can be a large-piece price, not an underprice. **Confirming which of the ~28 are genuinely mis-priced
requires Zoffany's actual per-metre US wholesale/retail price list** — that is the scoped follow-on, not a
same-session fix.
## RESOLVED — Zoffany per-yard price list scraped (4 researchers, $0); reprice draft built
The scrape (zoffany.design/us authoritative + WD US/Morris/Lionheart) returned US LIST retail for all 37
patterns. **Structural finding: the US sell-unit is the YARD** (Zoffany US quotes per-yard; several are
random-cut-by-the-yard). Draft: `zoffany_widewidth_reprice_draft.json` (71 SKUs, current → US list, per-SKU
confidence + source).
**The alarm fully inverted — these are UNDERpriced, not over:**
- **52 of 71 UNDERpriced vs US list** — Eleonora +69%, Henrietta's Trail +69%, Elswick +63%, Italian Garden
+62%, Floating Mountains +39%, Darnley Tigers Eye +19% ($416→$494). DW is selling premium Zoffany
wide-widths well below the manufacturer's US list (MAP-style) — the Option-A contract says price AT US list.
- **16 slightly OVER** (mostly −7%; Marquetry Trellis −22%, Stand Wood −22%, Eastern Palace −15% — several of
these are the length=0m SKUs whose current basis was already shaky).
- **4 within 5%** (~correct). **Tree of Life $1,236/panel = CORRECT** (a real 3 m mural panel).
- **2 unconfirmed** (Copes Trail — no US $/yd found; UK £186/m).
### ⛔ THE GATING FACT (only DW-ops knows) — confirm before any reprice fires
The draft assumes **one DW sellable unit = one linear yard**. If true, target = US $/yd list. If a unit is one
metre (or another cut), targets shift ~+9% (e.g. Verdure $550/yd → $602/m). The **direction (UP) is robust**
for the big underprices either way, but the exact target — and whether to fire at all — needs Steve to confirm
how these fulfill. This is customer-facing on 71 products → GATED regardless.
## Where this lands (remaining work is a scoped, GATED follow-on)
1. **Scrape Zoffany's per-metre US price list** for the ~40 wide-width patterns → the missing truth for both the
22 no-dimension SKUs and the ~28 out-of-band candidates. (Research effort; do on Steve's go.)
2. **Per-metre reprice** the confirmed out-of-band SKUs from that list (gated live write).
3. **Unit-labeling pass** on the in-band 23 + all per-metre SKUs (gated publish, low-risk copy/variant).
4. **Resolve the Tigers Eye dupe** — the ONE fix cleanly actionable now (gated card drafted separately).
5. 3 fixed panels (Wray×2, Tyndall) — correct, leave.
